Better facilities will be ensured to people this winter: Div Com | KNO

Srinagar, Dec 08 (KNO): With the onset of winter, the divisional administration Kashmir on Friday said to have made elaborate arrangements for this winter, saying that better facilities will be ensured to the people. Talking to reporters in Srinagar, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, V K Bidhuri, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the arrangements were reviewed from time to time this year. “Compared to previous year, better facilities will be ensured to the people this winter in terms of snow clearance, replacement of transformer, situation in border roads and also the power scenario has also improved,” Bidhuri said. Pertinently, Bidhuri had impressed on augmentation of the number of machinery and operation of workshops for effective implementation of snow clearance plan for timely snow clearance from roads. Besides, the KPDCL was directed to strictly adhere to power curtailment schedules and set up workshops for repairing of damaged transformers in every district. The health department was instructed for deployment of ambulances with wheel chains in all the difficult areas besides keeping the sufficient quantity of quality medicine available at health institutions in remote areas. For the operation of helicopter services to Gurez and Tangdhar areas for airlifting patients and rescue operation, the administration had asked for the establishment of a separate control room of stakeholders—(KNO)
